Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Peter went overseas in 1968, bought a boat and commenced an exciting affair with the water.

Peter holds a commercial offshore Master IV Certificate.
His sea voyages include a circumnavigation of the British isles for the BBC and he later pioneered cruising on the inland waterways of Europe.

In 1980, Peter built the five star barge Etoile, rated by Andrew Harper's Hideaway Report as one of Europe's most luxurious vessels.

From Boston, USA, Carol moved to Paris in 1974 to study her lifelong passion - French cooking. She joined Peter as chef of the Etoile in 1980, and quickly earned a reputation for fine cuisine.

Carol and Peter were married in 1983, and together they continue cruising the waters of the world.
